Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh Awarded the Highway 278 LCI Corridor Study
Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh & Associates (TSW) has been selected as the planning consultant for the Highway 278 LCI Corridor Study in Covington, Georgia. The study will focus on connecting two nodes along Hwy 278, namely the existing central business district and an emerging activity center to the east of the City. The goal is to create one livable center that builds upon Covington’s historic character while providing growth for the city’s population expansion.
The Newton County LCI Multi-Jurisdictional and Citizens Taskforce chose TSW in partnership with Marketek, Inc and URS Corporation to head this study. TSW will develop a vision for the US 278 Corridor that is financially feasible and provides a detailed plan for implementing the vision. The study process will involve significant community engagement and collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure that the proposed plan meets the needs and aspirations of the community.
Through the Highway 278 LCI Corridor Study, TSW aims to create a comprehensive plan that promotes the connectivity of the two nodes, facilitates access to transportation modes, and ensures the long-term sustainability of the corridor.
