TSW received three awards at the Atlanta Regional Commission’s (ARC) annual State of the Region Breakfast held on November 5. The event recognizes individuals, organizations, and communities that have made outstanding contributions to the Atlanta region.
The first award was for the White Provision project, a mixed-use redevelopment of an historic meat packing building. TSW was responsible for project sitework which included grading and new utilities, stormwater detention, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, and landscaping. The project received the 2010 Development of Excellence Award.
The second award was for the City of Hapeville, which was awarded the 2010 Livable Centers Initiative Achievement Award. TSW was the lead planning and design firm for the 2006 City of Hapeville Main Street Town Center LCI Study and has completed several implementation projects resulting from recommendations. The Livable Centers Initiative focuses on creating livable, walkable, and sustainable communities throughout the Atlanta region.
The third award was for the Mechanicsville neighborhood, which was awarded the Exceptional Merit for Comprehensive Community Revitalization and Design. TSW master planned the McDaniel Glenn development, a mixed-use, mixed-income extension of the historic Mechanicsville neighborhood.
