HIGHWAY 92 CORRIDOR STUDY

Douglasville, Georgia
TSW was contracted to develop a comprehensive study that includes the proposed Highway 92 realignment and the existing Highway 92. The goal of the study was to create a vision plan that promotes sustainable transportation options and enhances connectivity within the community. The study proposed a combination of bike lanes and multi-use trails that link parks, schools, neighborhoods, and downtown.

The main multi-use trail is proposed to meander alongside the proposed Highway 92 Corridor Study, providing several connection points to key facilities. This trail will provide an alternative mode of transportation for residents and visitors, and encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. The bike lanes are recommended to be located on retrofitted existing city streets that have been designed to accommodate bike lanes on safe streets. This will provide a safer and more convenient option for cyclists and promote the use of bicycles as a mode of transportation.

The vision plan also includes recommendations for improving accessibility and safety for pedestrians. The plan proposes the incorporation of sidewalks, crosswalks, and signalized intersections to make it easier for pedestrians to navigate the area. The plan also includes recommendations for incorporating green infrastructure and promoting sustainable transportation options.
