TSW was retained by Columbia Ventures to provide landscape architecture services for the Edgewood/Candler Park Station TOD, now known as Spoke (www.spokeatl.com). The project is located south of the Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA Station and was on-track to be completed in Fall 2017. This project was a great opportunity for TSW to showcase its landscape architecture expertise and to contribute to the development of a vibrant and sustainable community.
The development contains a multifamily building, consisting of studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments, a performing arts center, restaurant, pocket park, and a pedestrian bridge to MARTA’s Edgewood/Candler Park Station. The multifamily building provides residents with a variety of housing options, while the performing arts center and restaurant add a cultural and entertainment aspect to the development. The pocket park provides a green space for residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors, and the pedestrian bridge ensures easy access to the MARTA station for residents and visitors.
TSW played a key role in the development of the site’s streetscapes, parking areas, resident amenity pool and lifestyle deck, outdoor cafe plaza, and other gathering spaces. The streetscapes were designed to be both functional and visually appealing, with the use of a variety of materials and textures to create a cohesive and inviting environment. The parking areas were designed to be both efficient and visually appealing, with the use of a variety of materials and textures to create a cohesive and inviting environment. The resident amenity pool and lifestyle deck provide residents with a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, while the outdoor cafe plaza and other gathering spaces provide residents with a place to socialize and connect with their neighbors.
