Planning Studio Internship

TSW (www.tsw-design.com), an award-winning planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm, is offering a planning student internship in our Urban Planning or Urban Design Intern atour Atlanta office. This position is intended for a student who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in city planning, urban design, or a related field.

The intern will work full-time this summer to support our Planning Studio on a range of policy and design projects across a variety of contexts. Responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of comprehensive plans, downtown plans, and small area studies; supporting public outreach activities; assisting with sketch plans for development concepts; producing maps and support graphics; and collaborating with a dynamic team of planners, designers, architects, and landscape architects. An appreciation of TSW’s core values (rooted in New Urbanism) is a strong plus!

The intern will support the full range of Planning Studio activities, and may include:

  • Creating support graphics
  • Producing maps and conducting analysis in GIS
  • Conducting research to assist in preparing reports and presentation material
  • Assisting the team at public workshops and meetings

Planning Studio Internship candidates should possess:

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, in particular)
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, with emphasis on a quality work product
  • 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D rendering skills are a plus!

The selected candidate must have the ability to work in-person at the TSW Atlanta office (located at 1447 Peachtree St NE) and attend meetings in a variety of locations in the region, including evening meetings.
