Currently Seeking: Landscape Architecture Summer Internship 2025

Company Description:

TSW, an award-winning, full-service planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm that works throughout the Southeast on a variety of projects focusing on civic spaces, park and recreation facilities, mixed use developments, and streetscapes.

Position Overview:

The TSW Atlanta Office will host a college Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student of an accredited Landscape Architecture program for a summer Landscape Architecture internship. This program is for students interested in developing their skills in a collaborative, multidisciplinary studio where planners, Landscape Architects and Architects improve lives and strengthen communities through design.

As a participant in this program, you will spend most of your time leading a 4-5 weeklong pro bono community design project in collaboration with yearlong intern, and with the guidance of junior and senior landscape architecture staff with the following structure: 

  • Phase 1 – Site Analysis + Programming + Conceptual Design. Visit site, explore potential programming, and develop preliminary and final conceptual designs (with interim pin-ups and presentations to client).

  • Phase 2 – Schematic + Design Development. Refinement of concept towards a schematic + design development package with inspiration images and sketches.

  • Phase 3 – Presentation + Storytelling. Further refinement of client, and development of storyboards.

  • Phase 4 – Detail Design. Select detail element and approach to design and create 2D construction details + 3D visualization.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects within the Landscape Architecture studio project-work projects, focusing on skill-building, exposure, and mentorship. 

Successful candidates will be organized, excellent communicators, creative, and work well in a collaborative team environment, and develop these skills:

  • Design process.

  • Critical thinking and problem solving: Ability to analyze problems, propose potential solutions, and communicate ideas.

  • AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign.
