Business Development Director

Currently Seeking: Business Development Director

TSW (www.tsw-design.com), an award-winning planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm, is seeking a full-time Business Development Director to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. The position requires collaboration with firm Principals and Studio Managers to support our four offices (Atlanta, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Lexington, Kentucky; and Tulsa, Oklahoma) in pursuing new projects, promoting our firm’s innovative work and collaborative culture, enhancing our brand presence in the industry, and expanding our markets.

General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with Principals to create and manage annual business development and marketing plan to achieve firmwide goals
  • Work with Principals to seek and identify new business development relationships, track potential new clients, and position for potential new work.
  • Grow and cultivate a rich network of industry contacts in the southeast
  • Develop and manage marketing and business development team necessary to achieve annual business development goals.
  • Represent and coordinate participation for industry conferences and events
  • Coordinate TSW’s participation in the RFP/RFQ process for municipalities and private developers; this will include overseeing staff developing proposal content, as well as leading priority proposals and sometimes producing proposals during high-volume periods
  • Collaborate with Studio Managers and marketing leads to gather project information, coordinate project photo shoots, and develop other marketing content
  • Develop and manage the production of marketing collateral such as project sheets, resumes, brochures, advertisements, and presentations
  • Contribute to social media campaigns and content
  • Potentially grow a dedicated marketing team over time as TSW expands

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field and 8+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in the urban planning, architecture, or design industry; or, a Master’s degree in Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture and 8+ years of marketing experience in a planning/design firm
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness and interest in representing TSW at various industry functions, many of which are outside of standard office hours; some travel required
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to set priories and meet deadlines
