Atlanta’s Perkerson Park Splash Pad Opens This Saturday!
Join City Councilmember Joyce Sheperd and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs as they team up with the Atlanta BeltLine to celebrate the opening of the Perkerson Park splash pad on Saturday, May 19 at 1:30 p.m. The event promises an afternoon of fun with music, games for kids, Italian ices, light refreshments, and more. If you stick around until 3 p.m., you can also enjoy a jazz concert in the park!
Perkerson Park, located at 770 Deckner Avenue, 30310, is a 50-acre park in the Capitol View and Sylvan Hills neighborhoods of the City of Atlanta. As part of the BeltLine’s park planning efforts, TSW is currently working on the master plan for the park, which will serve as a long-term vision and strategy for enhancing the park.
By incorporating community input and sustainable design elements, TSW’s master plan for Perkerson Park will ensure that the park is an inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable space for all to enjoy. The park’s redevelopment will include improvements to existing amenities, such as the new splash pad, and the addition of new amenities, such as walking trails, sports fields, and community gardens.
The Perkerson Park splash pad opening is just the beginning of TSW’s efforts to enhance the park and make it a hub for community activity and engagement. With the BeltLine’s continued investment in park planning efforts and TSW’s expertise in sustainable design, Perkerson Park is poised to become a shining example of the benefits that thoughtful and community-focused park planning can bring to neighborhoods and communities.
